Tell Me In What Cases Is It Possible To Remarry Or Marry? What The Bible Says

Klaus asks: Tell me in what cases is it possible to remarry or marry? What the Bible says

Peace be with you, Klaus,

These are the cases:

  1. In the case of the death of one of the spouses:
  2. The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is free to marry whom she will, only in the Lord.
    (First Corinthians 7:39)
  3. If the divorce was because of marital unfaithfulness (adultery):
    1. But I say to you, Whoever divorces his wife not for adultery, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
      (St. Matthew 19:9)
  1. When one of the spouses is an unbeliever (meaning really an atheist, agnostic, satanist, neo-pagan, i.e. any sincerely convinced non-Christian) and he/she insists, demands and demands a divorce from the believer and especially if he/she also threatens to cause harm to health and life:
  2. If the unbeliever wants a divorce, let him divorce; a brother or sister is not bound in such cases; the Lord has called us to peace.
    (First Corinthians 7:15)

In this case, the believer should try by all means to preserve the marriage, to be reconciled with the unbelieving spouse, to involve the pastor in the process, and only after all necessary consultations with the pastor, only then resort to the last resort – divorce.

Gods blessings
Craig
